Online Double Deck Atlantic City Blackjack Rules

Online Double Deck Atlantic City Blackjack tables provide players with the opportunity to play one of the most dynamic forms of the game, with bets starting at $10.

Our innovative software has been designed to make playing online blackjack as straightforward as possible, but table rules differ slightly between game variants.

Game Rules

The major difference of Double Deck Atlantic City Blackjack compared to the other variants of blackjack is that only two 52-card decks are used, which are shuffled together before each hand.

The dealer receives one hole card and peeks for blackjack. The dealer stands on a soft 17 (a hand containing an ace that totals either seven or 17). If you hit blackjack you are paid at 3:2 odds.

As the hand progresses more options become available. You can double down on any two-card hand, which means you can double your bet in exchange for committing to stand after receiving one additional card.

You can split your two cards if they are paired or of equal value (Eight-Eight, Two-Two, King-Jack, Queen-Ten, etc…) to create two hands for an additional wager of the same amount:

  • You may split once for two hands in total
  • Aces receive only one card on each split hand
  • You may double down on any two-card hand, including after a non-ace pair split.

Unlike some game variants, the option to "surrender" is not allowed at our online Double Deck Atlantic City tables. However, players may still buy "insurance" when the dealer shows an ace, which pays 2:1 should the dealer hit blackjack.
